There's an ever-so-slight clue in the thread title

Jonathan and David (almost my favourite Belle and Sebastian song) you are both great ambassadors for the sport.

I'm guessing under 16's have to have someone to claim responsibility if they do something daft ? Is that just for our stand or is it Modelworlds rules they can't be there without a parent ?

PMs sent to all those who have volunteered.
I think we have enough people now, unless anyone can do the Friday. Always a quiet day, but equally we struggle to get enough people to man the stand.
Since the stand is in my name it is entirely my responsibility. I am unwilling to be responsible for other people's children in this kind of situation. Thus no under-16's.
The only exception to this is the children of adult roboteers whom I know well, and will be responsible for their own children - e.g. PeteC and Simon.
Since it's my responsibility, it's my decision and not open to debate.

I'm going to do some simple laser cut clear acrylic display cases for this event, Is there any preference to width, I've designed them to fit 4 robots at a squeeze and 3 at an angle. I could go larger or even single boxes, Thoughts? I can etch any detailing on them and even do some compartments for the rule cards we had one year if anyone thinks that would be useful.
I did consider doing them in 4 inch cube compartments so you can see how each robot fits in the cube but I'm not sure that is the best way to show off the robots for those that fit in at funny angles.

Hi Josh
Whilst it's nice of you to offer to make some display cases for Modelworld, we can't really make use of them
Unfortunately we don't have as much space as we used to a few years ago.
We use PeteC's arena for driving robots and demos, and my arena for static display. I also have a small display box which can accommodate 3 or 4 robots.
We really don't have space for much else

What about if we had a couple of steps to go inside your arena Gary? That way they could be arranged in tiers which would show them off a bit....that's if Josh is still desperate to build somethingBeligerAnt wrote:Hi Josh

I've got some more high capacity batteries coming from Hong Kong and I plan to build a second Pants as it's always popular and I can make them pretty robust (well, the original lasted 12yrs!)
I'm available all three days of course Gary and Megan can help on the Sunday - no useful inset day this year!
