Not really new,but here is Raoul, with his new 3s battery, and his tusks. :)
The drum needs serious balancing, but he runs well.

I missed the questions about Raouls origins earlier,sorry...

Raoul was born in Equador in 1972,he was head lawn mower at barbie's holiday home on the outskirts of mexico until the mid 90's,when the accident occured.
Barbie was in hospital for 2 months, but they managed to re-attach both her ankles, and you can hardly even see the scars now.
Unfortunately Raoul took it hard, and became an alcoholic, living on the mean streets of mexico city, earning money fighting in illegal street fights.
Raoul is now a reformed character, and volunteers for the local St Johns ambulance service on the weekends, here in Littlehampton... :o

So Shiny.

How well do the two brushless motors work together on the weapon?

The current draw was ridiculous. I couldnt get it to run well at all. The motors seemed to want to run at completely different speeds.
So in the end,I just removed the wound iron core from one of the motors, and am using it purely as a dual bb'd hub! which actually has turned out to be a really good way of getting a nice true smooth running hub. :)

The juxtaposition of the last two photos is most amusing.

Heres some pics of my attempt at an ant for our robot serial killer event in aus next weekend. Just have to do the top and bottom panels then install the guts! Its a 130mm diameter titanium bar spinner belt driven off a 5g hextronic motor :) (and no it doesnt fit in a 4 inch cube haha, its about 150mm wide)

It's not 100% finished yet, but I've been working on it all evening, so here it is. Same name, but entirely new robot: Randar

Also, there's a video of a quick weapons test I did:

Weapon Test

Apologies for the shoddiness of the photots and video, didn't realise until I uploaded them that my phone was on all lowest setting, and it's too late to be doing them again!

All in all I'm quite happy with my progress today. It drives nicely and doesn't wobble around too much when the disc in on full power (in the video it is ~50%). Although it's still far from balanced! It still needs a little work, but the majority, and all the annoying stuff is done. It needs a new disc, which hopefully Will is ordering over the next few weeks (although the current one seems ok).

Also needs some armour and a couple more coats of paint. It's 135g at the moment, so I may go for polycarbonate on on the top and back, and a titanium scoop on the front. But I do hate working with titanium, so may not bother. And it needs new wheels from shapways. I made a slight miscalculation on my design and they are about 7mm narrower than I would have liked. The chassis also needs some strengthening too, it was so badly damaged in the post when it came from shapeways that the gave me a full refund!

My other new ant, Taurus, should be making an appearance on here over he next few days too. How quickly will depend on if I decide to go for titanium armour on it or not!
