Re: New Robots- Continued
I know I have been posting about this in my controller section but now it a full robot I suppose it ought to go here.
I have adjusted the lifting arm geometry to give a higher lift so there was no way it could get stuck inverted without being able to self right.

I have added some plastic sheet over the receiver and underside of the PCB so it can't short.

I have also added some aluminium angle armour to the rear and two 15 gms steel weights to bring it up to weight.

The funny thing was that the extra weights at the rear stopped it getting stuck upside down so the first mod was not really necessary but anyway here is the finished robot.

Just needs a name with Ant in it to wind up Radio Controlled Dave.

I'm interested to see how CYIB fits the cube. Seems rather long.
Re: New Robots- Continued
It probably does, but thats not allowed. Any bits that expands from a robot must do so by remote. If the wedge tucks under the robot, he reverses and it flops out, that *may* count.

Re: New Robots- Continued
The front scoop is on an elastic band, which acts as its method of expansion, a method that has been used by tons of ants in the past. However, if anyone is being pedantic, there is a way I can get it to flop out using the back drive wheels and a stick, but seen as a robot doesn't have to expand upon activate then I don't really see the point in that.

Re: New Robots- Continued
Actually the do have to expand once in the arena see below.
2c) Robots may only expand from their size limit once they are in the arena, and only if the expansion is instigated by remote control (i.e. not just by being springy).
