Nice to see such a huge turnout of ants. Thanks to Dave for staying calm in the face of 63 ants :D

Sorry for leaving early without really telling anyone BTW. It was a great event and I certainly did better than I expected with no major robot faults (except maybe one) and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. By the way did you do any other awards and if so who won them? :)

There were a few awards, and in fact one of them was for you and your driving, and you missed it !

I'm sure dave will post it to you.

I am well chuffed about winning the fleas, though I need more driving practice with my ants.

Well done to Dave for running the event so smoothly :)

I second the event running comments, it was all really well done and thanks to everyone involved :) sets a high bar for Pontefract...

The event was a bit bittersweet for me since although I had a fantastic time (and fourth out of 63 for Jigsaw isn't at all bad ^_^) I do have a lot of repair work to do - Jigsaw needs a new gearbox and servo and some serious polishing, and Catatonia needs new armour entirely (although it performed far better with taped down shell and bent wedge than in its intended configuration!). Hopefully it should all be done by the SAC though.

Thanks to everyone for being excellent company as ever and especially to Jim for his involvement in Catatonic Octopus :) and very well done to Will for a deserved win, Dan for a runner up spot, Peter for doing very well and of course Dave Weston for a brilliant fleaweight win ^^

A few memorable bits from the event:

First 4-way antweight cluster (Fun with Bugs)

Oliver asking 'Has dave (lawrie) stopped playing with himself ?'

Me (to Dave L): 'Is that Acetate on the front ?'
Dave L: 'Its not acetate its sellotape !'

All the clusterbot wins

The standard and destruction in the fleas was fantastic :D

Just a note so say well done to Jonathon and Chris for their respective 1st and 2nd in the warm up

if we're on the subject of funny quotes:

Dave L: Rhys you (duff) have sunk even lower than when you were last here...

Dave L: Thats (deathbed) the worst spinner i have ever seen!
Dave W: I dont know, what about yours?
Dave L: Touche

Dave W: so who have you drawn?
Chris: Valliant
Crowd: BWAHAHAHAHA!

Dave L: Go on the Green one!
*Green one gets immediately flipped*

oh and me, Joey and Dave's "philosophical" discussion about god being everywhere

Dave, Robot Roulette was great, we should definatly do it again :D
