Since fleas are becoming more popular again I have decided to have another go at making one. Hopefully no one will remember my previous attempt as it was fairly rubbish :)

The final bits arrived today and I have spent a bit of time getting the drive up and running.

The drive itself is nothing special- just 2, speed hacked 9g servos with lego wheels running at just 5v- still pretty quick though.

As for the rest of it, I'm trying something a little different using parts from a few old ants- hopefully if I can get it within the weight it should be pretty effective, all going well it should be up and running tomorrow

pics to follow

Well I did some work on the flea today although it has ended up being a bit heavier than anticipated but there is still a fair bit of work to do

Name- Tempest 2
Weight- too much :)
Weapon- Spinning drum powered by an 18mm brushless outrunner
Drive- 2x 9g Tower Pro speedhacked servos
Battery- 180mAh Lipo
Rx- Spektrum AR6110e
Armour- 2mm HDPE

It is fully working and seems to go quite well but it does need a bit of tidying up to make everything fit properly but I might remake the chassis so that it isn't such a rushed job.

Anyway heres a pic http://s881.photobucket.com/albums/ac13 ... G_1010.jpg

I got some fibreglass board like pete uses today, and I've decided, after a bit of deliberation, to make Divinity an overhead bar spinner, hopefully protecting the innards from other robots

My usual source for fibreglass board has been dry for about 3 months now. I dont suppose you have found an online supplier,as my local model shop is VERY hit and miss. :(
I bought some 3mm thick sheet for the re-design of "El Chupacabra",but coud not get my hands on any 1.5mm for poor old bruce, who is sitting waiting for some new clothes!!

!!Overhead Bar Spinner!!! Sounds pretty devilish!!

I originally bought mine from maplin, it might be a bit more expensive but it was convenient.
