Alexandorz's Build Log

Post by Alexandorz »

Hey,

Due to recent viral events happening around the world i have found a little bit more time and motivation while locked away in my own home to have a go at building my first actually functional antweight robot. I bought a few parts a couple of years ago with the same intentions however never got anything more than a plastic wedge with 2 wheels rolling around the dining room. I spent SOME time over the last week CAD modelling a 2WD wedged vertical spinner. I have also printed and assembled an all plastic prototype.

(Tried to add an attachment but apparently the boards reached its attachment quota so I've used Imgur links instead)

See CAD models below.

I spent most of yesterday printing and assembling a first version of the robot.

The parts i am using are:
Battery: 2S 300mAh Turnigy
Drive ESC: Das Mikro 2S6A
Rotor ESC: 12A Turnigy ESC
Drive Motors: Some unbranded ebay 30:1 Gear Motors
Rotor Motor: Mulitstar Viking 1308 Motor
Receiver: Orange R410x

Below are some links to the photos of the assembled form.

The total assembled weight in all plastic as shown in the pictures is 136g so this leaves some weight left for aluminium or poly carb parts. I might also be able to save some weight in plastic by make a few changes and some weight reduction in shortening the wiring.
