Re: a bit of a naggy question
That will be fine with Rory's kit - after all he has one himself! I think a few people have used them. Search the forum for useful tips, problems etc they've almost certainly been mentioned.

Re: a bit of a naggy question
I've just bought one of these on Rory's recommendation here:

Haven't received it yet, and don't know how to flash the firmware yet, but I'll get there!

Re: a bit of a naggy question
One problem to look out for is changes to the regulations means DSM2 will not meet them so in future new Spektrum transmitters will only support DSMX.
There is no problem still using DSM2 but if you buy a new transmitter once the existing ones are used up it will not work with DSM2 only recivers.
I recently bought a small indoor model aircraft which would bind to both my DSM2 and DSMX transmitters but had a fault on the aileron and elevator channels so I took it back to the shop but the replacement one would only bind with my DSMX transmitter so new receivers that are only DSMX can also be a problem with DSM2 transmitters.
