i had some problems with sticky pads as some wood shavings had got onto them, and a wire wrapped round the axle of the gear motor. And it doesnt run upside down due to wheel size and bolt size
I suggest soldering the wire back on? Or has the tab died aswell. In that case you may need to get rid of some of the plastic around the tab stub and solder to that.

i dont have a soldering iron, will anyone at barnsley have one?
I'm guessing you do not know how to solder. I would see if you have a parent or family friend who can. If they don't, I would suggest getting a parent to buy soldering stuff and do it and you can learn by watching, then eventually trying it yourself.
EDIT: Someone at Barnsley will have one, soldering irons are an essential tool and the job should take about a second or two.

I dont know anyone who can solder, guess im going to have to learn somehow. is there a way to get duct tape to fix it?
