lol, cheers. It is an ant,125g at the mo,with polycarb armour, will probably replace it with Ti,and make some sides, and the tail servo needs majorly beefing up,it is an sg50,at the mo,and is definatelythe weak link.(shh, dont tell anyone, though! )
It was designed by my daughter, but built by me.A joint effort. :)

What I like about your robots is they are not only very functional but also have a certain style about them.

That's the best antweight ever.

Thanks Dave.It worked perfectly all day, until Issy drove it off the setup table. Now the tail servo is stripped, but I was going to address that weak spot anyway.
Creepy crawlys wheel suffered some damage, but I have a spare set to put on anyway.
Joey and I did very well with our cluster,I just wish that we had time to name it something interesting!!
and of course...

Congrats Jim!

I know it kind of defeats the point, but I can't help but thinking Creepy Crawly would be quite formidable in combat on "normal" wheels. Maybe interchangable ones? Or will it just defeat the point?

Hoorah! Thanks Dave,my first 1st place in an event! :D,come to think of it,it is my first 2nd place too!!

Good idea,I was discussing that very point with Creepys new driver just this morning.
I will order 4 of the 3 spoke pololou wheels come pay day,and we will see how it goes. :)
It will be a shame to loose the leggy wheel thingumybobs, and although I am sure we will gain some advantage in pushing power,we will also surely loose some of the unique defensive ability to be able to clamber our way out of alot of situations.
More driving practise is definately needed too. :)

hallooo! :)

Thought I'd share some general news from chez moi...
I have done some testing with Creepy Crawlys wheels, and he can push double the weight with "normal" round wheels!! Curse you physics!!!! :D

Image

So now he is still Creepy, but not quite so Crawly anymore! :(
I'll see if there is a measurable improvement, once in the arena.

I have recieved some new wiring from hobbyking,it is rated at 4.2v/2a,so I am using it as signal wiring from rx to controller, and for supplying power to the rx too.
It sure is tiny!!!!

I am building a new robot too. As cheese it did pretty well at the SAC (2nd over all as a cluster with Catatonia, thanks to Joey.) :)
I am goint to scale it up to ant size, keeping the same lifter config. Here is the chassis so far...

Image

0.5mm titanium.

I have designed a revised lifting arm for hellboy too,it should double the speed of the lifter, but only through the last part of the lift,if it works,it should make self righting alot faster. :)

Thats in theory,anyway!!

Ok,thats about it.Cheers,Jim. :)
