A bit more progress on the new Mutant.
So far with battery and controller it comes to 123gms.
That leaves 100gms for Drum, Weapon Controller and Grippy Feet.

It probably looks heavier than it is, although 85g is a lot for a spinning drum :) Not far off kwijebo's blade weight, however I think yours would have better chance of engaging something (too many teeth on Kwijebo)

Spinup time with the 2404 motor will take a little while. My 40gram saw-bar took around 3-4 seconds to reach explosion speed (>12000rpm) when run on 3S.

I think it is going to be too heavy what I thought I would do was make it as heavy as I can get in the weight limit and gradually reduce it by boring it out to get the best perfomance .

Looks nice and meaty, proberly more like what kwijwbo should be.

What are you planning to do to stop the drum hitting the floor when you are spinning it up?

The side plates highest and lowest points are slightly in front of the drum centre so they should stop any contact with the arena. I will probably have a couple of springy spikes out the front also to get under the opposition and feed them into the drum.

It waddles still to add the teeth and fit the weapon controller. I have reduced the basic drum to 75gms giving an all up weight so far of 206 gms.
The 50:1 HP motors where much to fast it just bounced on the spot so they have been replaced with 298:1 HP's.
May be a little too slow but at least it moves where I want it to go and the turn, which is the important part to keep the drum facing the opposition, isn't to shabby.
I can just about get a 3 cell pack in to increase the speed if necessary.
It even runs on its back as well as upside down.
