I have been looking at the pololu HP motors, which pete W was using at aws28. Is there any europian based companys selling them, as the import charge is more than a single motor.
I have also been using atomic workshop's 130 mah lipos in anticide 3 cell with no problems a very nice small lipo, however they weren't enough for kwijebo on 2 cells almost completly discharging the battery with one hit. Bigger batterys in the new version.

I couldn't find any of Pololu distributors that supplied the HP version of the motors. Having said that I got 6 motors for ?76.6 which is ?12.26 each including post and packing. Precision Micro drives charge ?15.43 each for the standard motor plus vat and delivery which if the order is above ?50 must be insured DHL. Even with 20% import vat plus the ?8 charge from the post office I recon they were still cheaper and only just over the week as far as I can remember.
Next time I shall go for a 50:1 or 100:1 rather than the 30:1 as they are a bit too fast and you might as well have the extra torque. See:

I have just bought some components from Digi-Key in the USA that I couldn't get from Farnell and I must say the service is excellent.
I ordered them at 17:27 on the 14/07/09 and they arrived at 09:00 on the 16/07/09. With orders over ?50 delivery is free and they come UPS who collect the 15% VAT at the door as COD so no large fee to the post office.

Sorry, if it has already been mentioned but I use http://bitsbox.co.uk. Parts are reasonably priced as is the postage.

Haven't used them (yet), but they are quite reasonably priced for parts and have a nice selection. However, the postage cost is quite high.
