Help!!!

Post by Occashokka »

I've just wired my new spinner up using an afro12A and a red DYS motor, the normal stuff binds fine but the spinner won't work, when I push in the weapons stick the Afro flashes orange then remains green until I release where it goes red then off, the spinner still sitting there not moving, I really really need to get this working so any advice is super welcome.

You could take a look at my forum post (under yours) and make sure your wiring is correct. Go to the last page for the final diagram.

Not really helping your question, but could you post a picture of how you mounted your blade onto your bot/motor. Im at that stage in the design and im stuck. Again last page in my post and you will see what im working with.

SUSPENDED! - I dont have the time/money to fully commit and I may have killed a motor and my NanoTwo :o !

I may give this another go at some point, but for now its over.

Does the motor beep when you power it up? It should beep 3 times in a rising tone, and then do a longer beep to signify that everything's ok and it's got signal. It sounds like it may be a motor connection issue.

No beeps :( I have just realized it had a 5v beac on the Afro but the red wire on the servo plug is the middle one and I thought it was a side one you cut, it's the type that goes brown, red, yellow.

Blade mounting wise my blade/hunk of aluminium hasn't arrived yet but I intend to attach it between the prop add on and the motor just like you drew

Yeah, if you cut either of the other two then the ESC isn't gonna do much. Resolder it, cut the red wire, and you should be good.

I hadn't cut any, so only having 5v was hopefully why the motor rated for like 11v+ wasn't working, I will check tomorrow morning

Not cutting the red wire won't stop it working. It'll just shorten it's life.

Make sure that when turned on throttle is low, if needed lower the trim on it to the lowest it goes to be really sure. Make sure the middle wire on the ESC connects to the middle wire on the motor.

Even if the throttle isn't low you should be getting beeps. Sounds like you're not getting any signal from the receiver. You sure the servo plug is plugged in the right way up? (Yellow wire closest to the heatshrink)

I cut the red wire and rebound, it still moved on bottom throttle no matter what so I put the trims up, bound then after binding knocked it down and recharged the battery and it all works now so thanks lots :D
