Re: A new antweighter (again!)
it is possible to increase the power of your flipper by changing your servo plug to a four pin one however it's not recommended and you could end up burning out the servo as the four pin plug allows your servo to get the full voltage of the battery. i think razerdave's robot stewy is a full voltage servo flipper. if you do want to do this, a metal geared servo would probably be best.

Thanks for the resounding no,My parents were starting to get a bit nervous that I was going to be hacking tiny little pieces and that it was going to cost them a lot of money.

to be honest, from what i've seen on youtube i think the shockbots flipper weapon is fast enough and powerful enough as it comes standard. it's deffinitely a competitive setup provided you can drive it.

Hi!
I'm new too, I got mine just 2 days ago (Xmas Day)!
Like Dan said, head to Ant Freeze 2015 (2), and pick up from there. The sign up is in the thread on the Events category.

Re: A new antweighter (again!)
Yeah Stewie runs full battery voltage on a HS82MG servo, I don't know what will fit in the shell of the shockbots kit but there are other options to upgrade.
Don't overvolt a servo unless you are certain the servo can take it. HS82MG's, HPXF's, standard Futaba S3003's, plus a few of the specialist metal cased servos (the Reading boys might be able to help with those).

At your servicerazerdave wrote:...plus a few of the specialist metal cased servos (the Reading boys might be able to help with those).

If you really want to go all out, these are the best servos you can get without spending huge amounts of money IMO, and they will run straight off the battery: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... duct=31880
Tbh though, I've never used fast servos in my flippers; most of my robots use similar servos to what you already have, and they do just as well if not better than many of the robots with more expensive servos. There are of course many other factors, but you don't need to do anything to your servo really; the important thing is to learn how to drive it well

Ok I'll stay fairly simple and learn what does and doesn't need doing by gettin experience at antfreeze
