thanks Dave. i know it's pretty basic but it's something for me to compete with at least. the ramp is very slightly dipped in the middle. this is due to heat radiating from the soldering iron while i was attaching the scoop. it was completely unintentional but i reckon it should make it more difficult for the opponent to escape by sliding off the side of it. as seen in the pictures the wheels protrude from the rear of the chasis which should allow it to self right by reversing into the arena wall provided it's high enough. the lid will be held on with duct tape so spinners better watch out:)

PS: what are the official rules for fleaweights at the moment? i am interested in this catagory of robot now! i like having fleas;)

Rules are basically the same as ants, but smaller. Weight 75g (Walker 112.5g), cube 3", 3 rollers max on team, plus a 4th that's walker or cluster...all else the same I believe.

250mAh? It'll run for days between charges :P

Seemed to drive pretty well and have good pushing power, though you may want to add another 14 grams over the wheel just to bring the grip up.

Best name evar.

I would stick some weight over the wheels but make sure that doesn't cause the front to buck up when you accelerate.

That looks amazing! I love the gearmotor setup - I wish I could do (or afford!) something as good as that! So tiny too! I am hoping to rebuild Class Act for a new era (for me) of fleaweight robotics, this time using servos that actually fit in the size properly! Really hope that robot goes well for you!

haz- i've been wary of the wheely effect all through the build which is one of the reasons why the motors are only glued in rather than screwed in with heavy motor mounts. it should be relatively effective as it is however i will experiment with it to see what can be done. my aunty thought of the name by the way.

antroboteer- thanks very much buddy! i wish you all the best with your new fleaweight era. looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
