Re: AWS 40
FINAL EVENT INFO
It’s looking like this is going to be a busy event! We’ve got loads of ants signed up for the main competition, possibly even a new record.
ARRIVAL TIME: Please aim to arrive before 10.30 as we have many robots to check and would like to be able to start on time.
DIRECTIONS: The address of the University is
University of Reading
Whiteknights Campus
Reading
Berkshire
RG6 6UR
The best entrance to use will be the Shinfield Road gate. From here there will be signs/guides to point you to the right direction.
We will be in the Palmer building- No. 26 on this map http://www.reading.ac.uk/web/FILES/Univ ... -ALPHA.pdf
To unload use Car Park P (just behind the building) before moving your car to Car Park 2.
ON ARRIVAL: Sign in in room G10 (this the main lecture theatre where the arena will be set up).
The pits will be in rooms G02, G03, G04- the dividing walls have been removed to form one large pit space.
TECH CHECKING: In addition to all of the usual checks for weight and the cube, ALL spinners will have failsafes checked so please make sure that they do.
COMPETITIONS: There will be the usual warm up event taking place limited to one non spinner ant. This will be running at the same time as the fleas so only teams without fleas can enter.
Fleaweights will be running their own double elimination competition as usual.
The main AWS will be as usual- double elimination with the fun events taking place once it is all done.
We will have 3 judges who will be running the draw throughout the day. Mark and Kat have already agreed and there is a third to be confirmed.
PRIZES: As usual certificates will be up for grabs along with the hats provided by MBOSS.
LIVE STREAM/ AUDIENCE: We will be streaming the event online all day at the http://www.ustream.tv/channel/robot-wars-reading
The event has also been advertised Uni-wide so there may be an audience there to watch. The lecture theatre has a capacity of 400 but I doubt we would get anywhere near that many.
OTHER STUFF: Please bring your own food as the campus shops may not be open as it is the end of term.
Bring extension leads with you. We will have a couple but more will be needed
Anyone with Micromouse/ Mini Sumo robots are welcome to bring them for display.
I think that is everything. Any questions please ask and see you all on Saturday!

Would it be ok to sign up tomorrow, as my robot(s) still isn't running yet?

Re: AWS 40
Will, ICant won't be at the AWS. My 4th entry will be my flea with Rhys. I am sure we will have a good name for the cluster on Sat.
TEAM GEEK!
