Cheers,Dave. :)
The trainer weighs 350g,so not bad,I thought!
Unfortunately I am 86% certain that I will drive "The Red Baron" straight off the edge 138% of the time! :-?
Either that or it will burst into flames, hopefully the latter! (Brighton uni must have a fire extinguisher lying around somewhere!).
Murray is one of our cats, but the little one in the pic is Jellyfish.
Murray grew up,so we got another one. :)

"The Red Baron" was on 3s,but I went to charge it yesterday, and got a face full of "low voltage" alarms. The middle of the 3 cells had become poofy,(technical term!)

So I popped a 180mah 2s HK lipo in.3s would have been silly,anyway!!!!

Just trying to sort Raoul out now,for the AWS.He is a bit wobbly at the moment,I need to square everything up.

Issy might not be able to make it now!
I am going to have 2 wait to sign up I'm afraid, she wants to come, but has school commitments, just got to convince my wife that Robots are more important than School!! :D

Cheers Jim.

I did say (on this thread or another) that 3 cells need a balance. Baby Hell used to have a 3 cell pack and the same thing happend. Same again with FIN, but the current pack has managed to stay balanced so far.

I've used 3 cell packs in almost every one of my robots for the past..6+ years? I've never once used a balancer and not once had any problems with them, despite pushing them very hard (the new Zenith has 3x150 cells, for example).

The Red Baron looks great, though. Always enjoy seeing well-implemented 4-bar lifters.

Cheers Scott! :)
I have had 3s working well, but just not this time.I think I ran the batteries down too low.
2 cells came back up after slow cooking them, but one of the cells is defo kaput.
I find that as long as the cells are fully charged just before connecting them into a pack, they seem to be okay. :)

Red Baron is one of those "proper" robots that looks all scruffy and machine-like with its shell off, then all shiny and beautiful with it on. lol

I hope Issy can make it Jim. Looks like there are going to be a few last minute sign ups for this event. Either that, or its just going to be smaller than usual!
