The rules are being drafted and kicked around the committee. It's the best way of writing the rules, as everyone reads them slightly differently so it is very difficult for one person to write them "right first time".

This is only the drafting stage.

When the committe agree they've done the best they can, it's up to the community as a whole to ratify the rules. They are not "handed down from on high".

BTW, don't expect any earth-shattering changes!

It would be nice to have the new rules in place by the New Year and use them at AWS19. However, that doesn't really give us long if everyone else is as busy as I am in the run-up to Christmas!

Committee members: Can we kick the rules around with a bit of urgency to get something published ASAP?

AWS19 will have a fair check-in, much like at Pete's last event, as I think it's an essential part of a fair competition. Natch, any new rule changes would be nice to have before then

I'm back..... Nice and relaxed from 2 1/2 weeks on holiday.

Glad to hear the event went smoothly and the trophy has gone to a worthy winner.

I have found:
Pictures look better when taken from a lower angle
depends on the ants, for thin ants needs a higher angle and for high ants can get any with anything.
Turn the flash off when taking pictures of battles
Needs a flash if low amounts of natural light and ants are fast. Bad thing is the flash reflects off the arena. Ideally need flash off and lots of natural light or a spotlight on the arena.

Does anyone have the results for the event so I can put them on my site. Also any pics going spare, i'll credit anyone that can provide any.

Thanks, Oliver

I think Craig's the only one with results, but Pete C could probably work it out from his footage.

I am still alive!! I haven't got a copy of the result either, although I did take copies of some of the early bits. Working it out from the DVD is complex - I usually use the results to do the titles...sooooo, Craig....
