Re: AWS 49
Help is generally available from several of the "old timers". If you have a venue we can hold an AWS!

Looking at this venue. Only issue is it lacks many mains sockets. Opinions?

Re: AWS 49
There'll be enough people turning up with extension leads that it should be able to be worked around - if there's only two for the entire room then that might be a problem, but generally people are resourceful enough to work around that (and these days I just arrive with seven or eight pre-charged battery packs and don't need to plug anything in!)

Got talking to the guys at the makerspace in Liverpool and have offered us the workshop as a venue. I'll happily help run it if there's interest.
Re: AWS 49
If you have any idea of the size of the place? That could be pretty good.

Re: AWS 49
There's a few rooms. One easily big enough for the arena and then 2 rooms in the workshops with a pile of desks where people could set up their bots. I'll get a rough estimate of size Thursday when I'm next there. Best of all they said if it's a not for profit event, we can the space for free.
Here's the Makerspace's website if anyone's interested:

Re: AWS 49
The only problem I really see is that it's quite far north for an ant event and it may be difficult for a lot of people to get there. I know it's about 4 hours from me so I probably wouldn't be able to get there.
