Ah, yeah the heat almost took me out on Wednesday driving for 2 hours with no AC in 40C heat :S

Yeah that's fine Lincoln :)

And as Pete says, although it's a shame the numbers are quite low, it should at least mean plenty of time for other activities afterwards. :)

Entropy will not be competing; it would appear that the hit that I took in the spinner annihilator not only disconnected my wires to my weapon motor, but actually pulled on the wires in such a way that they snapped at the motor end. TBH, as much as I loved the design, it was a real pain and has caused me no end of annoyance, so I'm not that bothered. There will be more Entropy in the future though, just better designed and more reliable :).

"Designed" entropy - isn't that an oxymoron? ;)

As predicted, one loose wire, so will need a quick solder in the morn, but everything survived. These robots are really quite silly. Anyway, we've been up since 4 so bed time. See you in the morn.

Just woken up from sleeping the night in Rory's frankly amazing house (thanks for putting up with me and my getting lost every five minutes!) and looking forward to what should hopefully be a good AWS, even though I only managed to get one robot working in the end...to anyone reading this, somehow, good luck and have a safe trip :3

Thanks to Rory, Alex, Ross and the gang for a fun time, and to everyone for the good company.
For those who weren't there, the antweight and fleaweight champs both retained their titles, with Mr Waller winning the nanos. So you all know what you have to beat next time!

I second the thanks, especially to everyone who put up with me; it was a nice event, friendly and fairly relaxed, and I enjoyed being able to talk robots to people, which was quite good seeing as S. D. F. managed to lose both fights and do a Robot the Bruce in the second one (well done Joel, hehe!). Well done to Peter, John, and Andy for winning the nanos, fleas, and ants respectively, and roll on Basingstoke...
