Do the hexagonal beams around the edge count as in or out? Could see me driving my fleaweight along them...lol

The beams around the outside will be blocked by the small walls leaving a gap in the centre for the drop off.

Having a really big arena would be good I think :) looking very nice indeed!

Plan sounds good to me Will. You know what you're doing.

Arena is nearly finished now, the main structure is complete and the lights are just being wired up ready for fitting in a minute. The final size is 1.7m x 1.3m so it is pretty big.

It has 4 access points- the 2 middles roof pieces are hinged to allow access to the main arena and both short ends have hinged panels too. The small inner walls are yet to be made.

It's looking good, would I be correct in assuming there will be walls between the edge of the main area and the large pieces of wood that support the pit walls? Otherwise a small robot could run away across them :P.

Will, can you get the new software out for beta test soon? I'm happy to play with it (and try to break it ;) ), I'm sure you'll get some other willing volunteers.
It sounds really useful, but needs to be extensively tested before the event - especially if it's the only method of running the event and/or logging the results...
