Joey I am not trying to take over the organising but you mentioned you might want some help with the draw.
I have in the past used the list of entries in the order that they entered and numbered them off for the groups.
Because the entries are grouped in teams you effectivly split each team up into different group and we don't seem to have any frequency clashes.
So if you are running 8 groups you number the entries off 13572468,13572468 until you get to the end.
If only 4 groups it would be 1234,1234 etc.
You then put all the group 1 robots names in a pile and draw them out for the position in the group and repeat for each group.
I have printed out the list of all the entries for both the AWS and FWS plus a set of name tags for each robot for the draw.
You don't have to adopt this method but I will bring the stuff along in case you do and it does seem to save a lot of time on the day.

Re: AWS 35 - Pontefract - 17th July 2011
Me and Joey have already discussed the draw Peter. We will be using the method I used at AWS34, which is pretty much exactly as you've described, but its so much easier to actually carry out than to put into words how to do it. I have a random number generator on my phone that we can use to assign the robots into groups, and then draw them into battles from there.
We have the potential for some really interesting groups. Its going to be fun.
Take care everyone who's travelling today. See you all tomorrow

Thats fine then I was just responding to Joey's PM to everyone.
Anybody willing to help out and assist with the draw, the filling in of charts as the competition progresses, calling fights, videoing fights, et cetera, please do, as it will be a massive help to me.

I did actually, I can only imagine how well arranged the episode where he had to play two parts was to make it look that shambolic ;P
