I heard the 12th but either one I should be going along to. Hopefully with a fully functioning ant.

Hey everyone.
First off, I appologise for my lack of forum time, I've had a busy few weeks full of ups and downs. For a while it was looking like I couldn't even attend my own event, but it's all sorted now and we're back on track. Hopefully I'll be on the forum more often now.
I'm hoping to get a good turn out for this AWS, hope everyone can make it. Me and Dave Weston have been arranging a few details for it, hopefully it'll be a lot of fun.
We will definately be running a fleaweight competition, and a double elimination AWS, though we may give up the pre-AWS warm up competition in favor of something more fun in the afternoon. If anyone has any thoughts on this, please voice them by all means.
Anyway, I'll get Pete C to open up the sign up sheets soon. And I'll see you all in 7 and a bit weeks.
Remote-Controlled Dave.

No worries Dave, glad to be seeing more of you now ^^
I would personally prefer some sort of warm-up competition for the purposes of its name - a warm-up - but would have no objection to reducing it a bit as at a few recent AWSes it's taken up half the day on its own - something like the last event had with it being single elimination and one robot per person may help us reduce it to a managable size.

Dave, I would strongly suggest keeping the warm-up. By the end of the AWS many people don't have any functional robots left - the warm-up ensures that everyone gets at least one "extra" fight.
Limiting the warm-up to one robot per team and single elimination meant we got through the whole thing in about an hour.
You can set the sign-up up yourself. In fact it's easier to do it yourself as you know all your details. Just look at the "How to set up an event sign-up on RW101" thread in the Committee section of the forum. It's hidden there so that it is "members only".
If you want any help running the fights on the day, you know which direction to shout
