No that rule is still there:
2c) Robots may only expand from their size limit once they are in the arena, and only if the expansion is instigated by remote control (i.e. not just by being springy).

Alex (Wolkig) had a good way around the expansion and acetate issue, he tucked the acetate under the flipper and it fit the cube, and when it turned on, the servo twitched and the acetate flipped out onto the surface. Something to consider if your robot can do it.

I don't think I'm going to be able to make this one, machining is taking longer than expected and I don't want to run the disk before I get it nitride hardened.
