Re: New Event idea
Ok Rhys, the jobs yours
. So thats out 4 captians
Something Rhys brough up is interesting; I had planned just to have 1 robot from each roboteer in a team (IE: Pete C, Oliver, Me, Henry, james and Haz, robots would be limited to Pants, General Mayhem, Stewie, Bullseye, Antipathy and Deoderant), Rhys was saying you have the entire roboteers team to pick from (possibly a total of 48 robots!). Thats probably too many. So what to do...
I may have to get the teams to pick peoples other robots, it depends on how many we'll get.

Re: New Event idea
The problem with that is if the two robots aren't independant of each other (IE. Share a transmitter) and then get drawn against each other in an event

Re: New Event idea
It may have to be you can pick only 1 robot from each persons team, IE: 8 roboteers, you could have in your team person 1, robot B, person 3, robot D, etc, and someone else could have Person 1's robot C, etc, etc. It depends on the amount we get.
EDIT: Yeah, thats the problem, 2 of my ants share a TX. If we have 4 teams of 6 robots, and it is only 1 robot per roboteer, that would require 24 seperate roboteers. Think thats do-able ? I do.
All excess robots from the competing 24 can compete in mad melees or have a seperate sub-competition, depending if anyone minds competing with only 1 robot for the day (BTW, I should mention substitutes are allowed providing they come in from the same team (Substitute Stewie for BH if Stewie burnt out a servo or something), in case you try and bring in a ringer

oh ye forgot abotu thos coming
i just hope i get a good team and im now in favor of picking from a hat

Re: New Event idea
Isn't 24 roboteers a bit optimistic? If we can get that many it would be ideal as it's one each. Also, if we only get 12 then each person can have 2 robots. As long as one of your robots is in the 'team 1 v team 2' match and the other is in the 'team 3 v team 4' then you will only need one tx. Unless they get to the final. And even then I'm sure there will be plenty of spare tx's knocking about.

Re: New Event idea
We could stretch the definition of 'team' a bit and press some of the people who turn up to events and spectate into service, using other peoples' spare or drive-all-day robots?
