Am going to try and bring my son (Kevin) down for this. We will be travelling from Runcorn on the train to Coleshill Parkway, presume we can get taxi from their to the venue?
Just checking I have right station really.
Thanks,
Dave

That's fine with me just glad you didn't move it back 2 more weeks.
I have a very understanding wife but playing robots on my golden wedding anniversary might be pushing it a bit.

I'm also a noob - my ant is still mostly in the post!
What's the event like for spectators? In particular, small, 4ft high, short attention spanned spectators who've just spent an hour in the back of a Honda?

So from the video of the last event, Nuts is where four robots are in the corner of the arena, and a number of plastic nuts and bolts are scattered in the centre, and teams have a minute to scoop up as many as possible and put them in their corner. Here's some from last event!JeffSergeant wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 3:26 pm As a newbie, could someone explain :Would be good to know what to expect!

Civil War, I guess is between roboteers who support the monarchy and those who would prefer a Lord Protector instead of good Liz?

Annihilator I would assume is the same as on the TV show - 6 robots enter, fight until one is eliminated - they're put back in with five machines, and then down to four and so on.

Here's one on the TV show to give you an idea.
As for entertainment for kids - there might be some standing around not doing much, but if he likes watching robot fights, it's pretty much non-stop. And if there's a cluster going, sometimes kids get to drive those (I don't know if it's always the case, but Termite Cluster had an audience participation at AWD 53) but again, it's all about what the roboteers have on show. I think it'd depend how short your kid's attention span is but there should be something to keep him going. Don't be afraid to bring along a PSP or the like though just in case.
