Spinner Motors

Hey All
Are there any good, light, fast motors for Fleaweight spinners?

The top one on the page is what I've got in Little Yellow Taxi, it's quite easy to mount and wire up as well

Micron do some other small brushless motors that might be worth a look into too...if you want to go brushed for whatever reason I'd look at some of the faster Pololu HP gearmotors, the low reduction ones do about 1500rpm which would work in a pinch for a spinner. They're a slight bit cheaper as well

Hmm, yeah, i should of also mentioned that im on a rather tight budget

But that brushless it good, any idea on speed/rpm?

Tight budget shouldn't be much of a problem unless it's incredibly tiny, the motor costs ?26 and a brushless controller to run it will be about ?10, you might be able to shop around and pay less.

I haven't clocked speed or anything, that's a bit technical for me

but according to the specs it's 2200rpm per volt, works out to about 16-18,000rpm on 2 cells.

If you can spare 13g for a brushless motor, this one:

from Robotbirds is ?15 and has plenty of power. James used it in Antipathy at RFRC. The Robotbirds 6A speed controller is 6g and ?9

Remember that with outrunner type motors, a lot of the mass of the motor is in the rotor and contributes to the effective mass of the weapon.
