Nice Components

Post by peterwaller »

I have just been looking on the HiModel site which carries a good range of model gear and have noticed the following two useful items.
A range of brushless motors going down to a 9gm 18mm dia 40W motor $26.25
http://www.himodel.com/electric/HiModel ... 18_17.html
0-500 gm scales 0.1gm steps $22.5

Hobbycity have the motors I was looking at for $15.95 instead of $26.25 at Himodel so I have ordered a couple plus some 180mah lipo cells at $2.75 to try out. I must have a good look round the site to see what else they do.

It appears to be much cheaper to buy the drive motor gearboxes from Solarbotics in Canada ( $16 or ?8 ) than from Precision Microdrives in the UK( ?14 inc vat ). I ordered 4 motors on a Saturday, they despatched them on the Tuesday and I received them the following Monday. I didn't get caught for any duty although a bigger order might have done. Two of the motors are the slight larger GM19 motors which are quicker than the 30:1 unit with 3.5 x as much torque see. http://www.solarbotics.com/motors_acces ... _motors/3/
Great service and only $5.29 postage.

I came across this interesting linear motor today:

http://www.faulhaber.de/n171156/i412170.html

It has a 20mm stroke and weighs around 50g. Most importantly, it produces 9N of force, which will accelerate 150g at 60m/s/s.

Unfortunately, coming from Faulhaber I'm sure it won't be cheap, and the controller is 40 x 62mm and another 18g.

It does look like an interesting flipper actuator, maybe something to rival pneumatics?

Just found these for those who have difficulty mounting the sanyo type motor gearboxes or are worried about the open gearbox.
