servo boards as motor controllers.
What are the issues with doing this.
I am finding that I have to trim both axis every time I power up.
Why is this,and is there any way to combat this?
If we could get them to work well,they would be great,as they are small/light/cheap.
Or are there more issues?

Hi Jim servo boards a bit of a pain but the way i do it is...
I centre the trims on the transmitter channels I am using then I turn the potentiometer to the dead spot. I then get my volt metre out (that measures ohms)
and measure the ohms between the middle and right wire and the middle and left wire, this shoul tell you the right resistor to use. You then solder the resistor to each wire then trim it if it is necessary.

you can increase the dead spot in the middle by changing the expo settings on your transmitter

As for putting 8v in, you need to regulate 5v into your rx and then the black and red cables from the 8v battery should go directly into the servos, with only the white wire from the servo going into the receiver. But I've never actually tried this, so be careful. Also, I wouldn't recommend putting 8v into a tiny servo.
