Thanks Craig, but it does need to be done in advance. It's not only armour, it's chassis as well. I'll just have to bite the bullet and get it from technobots.

I use stuff thats just lying around usually, but I guess I am one of the more "bodge" type builders, and you'd be after something a bit more substasial

You could always go retro with the time-honoured art card and gaffa tape look...

You need "mounting board" from an art supplies shop. It's about 1.5mm thick card and great for building all sorts of stuff. And of course, never underestimate the powers of gaffa tape!
It might not stand up to MilitAnt etc, but then neither does 1mm polycarb...

gaffa tape is like a force: it has a light side and a dark side, and it binds the universe together.

Think I'll use that in my sig...

y go for expensive stuff when it does the same thing as cheap stuff?

This is the philosophy I've been working to for a while now. What's the point in using more expensive stuff if spinners do the same to cheap, free stuff

Can't say I agree with that. 1mm polycarb has always worked well against spinners for me. I'm sure you could get away without any armour in most cases anyway. It's only when you come up against a spinner that its ever needed, and there aren't too many spinners about.

The only reson i stopped using polycarb was because it's too flexible. In all the times I used polycarbonate for armour, it only ever got damaged once, and that was only a small crack. All other damage was from the spinner pulling the chassis apart. If everything is bolted or bent into shape, polycarb is pretty damn good stuff.

If you run anything at the right angle too, most spinners wont have as much contact. Most of your machines Rhys have had the wedge front, I think the low angle you had it on TNT at RRC7 deflected Pete's spinners pretty well. I remember you beating one at least with it...

I remember beating one, but I'm not too sure how. It also got smashed by another. But then again the armour was less than 0.5mm cardboard.

All Duff's except the one with the spinner (which I loved by the way!) have had some kind of wedge. :D
