Metal armour. uh oh....
I am gonna be stirring such a large can of worms here. Is a cast aluminium body allowed? I'll be fixing it to a separate base plate obv...

No! That was the one thing that everyone agreed should be expressly forbidden by the tortuous and slightly incomprehensible metal armour rules!
I think it was about the only thing about metal armour that was (more or less) unanimously agreed on!
BTW, why cast an ali' body? Remember it can only be 1mm thick so you've got *lots* of machining to do to get it the right thickness... better off just CNC milling it out of a solid block (Then again, that's still not allowed!).
For one-piece moulded bodies, I think you're better off with composites and Ti skirts like DBA and RONNY. OK, so RONNY's only CF at the moment, but I have got as far as making the new pattern for the Kevlar/Ti body, just don't get time to make much progress on it...

Adam, you're right - if it's not competing the rules don't apply. It would probably be a good idea to make the ATB "indestructible" as a feature. After all, you wouldn't want to have to rebuild it after every practice session!
Injection-moulded polypropylene would be good ... might be a problem with the tens of ?1000's tooling cost though... Vac-formed ABS sounds like a good practical solution. Wouldn't mind seeing a one-piece brushed/polished metal body, though - kinda DeLorean style...
