ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
i have tested out this esc/rx combo.
check out this very high production video i made about it.
https://youtu.be/h6rgZZRcgAI
after a week, the results are still the same.
confirmed working in a spinner and it also "auto failsafes"
as in it stops spinning when signal is lost just like a failsafe, but i didn't need to set anything up to achieve this.
it has a fair few features built in like mixing and braking that you can switch on or off to suit your driving style and setup, you can choose whether channel 3 is a brushed channel for a weapon motor or pwm for servo's/brushless esc. has built in channel reverse for robots that are invertible (flysky doesn't support this natively) just to name a few.

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
I've wired up my Malenki into my old axe bot & after testing for about 5 minutes the axe, running off the weapon channel, stopped working. The motor was very hot, but the drive channels still work fine & the esc still makes noises when I try the weapon channel, so I suspect it's just a burnt out motor caused by the motor constantly trying to move when the axe is at each end of it's travel. I'm going to try swapping the weapon motor when I get chance but I thought I'd mention this here 1st in case anybody has any ideas how I can stop this happening again.
Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
switch that the axe presses at the end of travel that cuts power maybe?

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Sorry to hear that it's toasted your weapon motor.
I'd recommend the easiest solution - modify the transmitter to have a self-centring channel3 axis.
But you could also adjust the limits of the channel, paricularly on retract, so that it won't stall on full power while the stick is down, but will still give you full power when you hit something.
If you have a dual motor weapon you could also try the motors in series rather than parallel, that will reduce the stall current but also reduce the power.
Can you measure the resistance of a motor? Perhaps you have an unusually low resistance motor. Most of mine are about 12 ohm, but I've seen them 6 ohm or lower.

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
It was my fault the motor burnt out, not the esc . I'll definitely change the tx settings before replacing the motor, thanks for the responses.
PS. Am very happy with the esc overall & hope these work out for you Mark, I would certainly be interested in getting more in the future.

We've got more in stock if anyone's looking for a triple esc and receiver under 3g in weight!

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Im trying to test this with my FrSky Taranis X9D plus transmitter at the moment. But i cant seem to get it to bind. PPM or D8 or D16 mode.
What make of receiver is it using? I might need a module or something
|EDIT: Yea im going to need another module. This one should make it compatible with the taranis x9d plus

Looking forward to testing it soon.

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
I haven't tested it with any multiprotocol transmitter but I have at least one report that it works ok. I think Joe used a multiprotocol one in this video:

Yeah I use https://www.banggood.com/IRangeX-IRX4-L ... 46927.html without issue with the Malenki-Nano and FS2A receivers.
