Time for an update on uMBX Still in progress, but getting closer!
Name: uMBX or micro Melty Brain eXperiment
Weight: ~150gram
Length: 75mm
Width: 75mm
Height: 26mm
Drive: 1 x 12v Dick Smith Electronics P9004 12v hobby motor with 34x18 foam wheel
Controller: HobbyCity T4A RX with Pololu Baby Orangutan B-328 controller and 250G accelerometer
Battery: 2S 350mAh LiPo (or 3S 240mAh LiPo)
Weapon: Translational Spinner (~150gram @ 6000rpm) with two carbide tiped saw teeth.
Armour: 1.2mm bi-metal steel, 1mm carbon fibre, 0.5mm polycarb.
Still need to put the motor switch in, foam wheel, teeth, led, accelerometer and a top cover. Needs more weight reduction as well, probably close to 10g overweight right now... Going to brushless in the future will easily clear up 25gram of weight.

Flippt used 0.02mm shim steel for a few AWS and it does get bent after a few fight, but enought to go around for a day. 0.05mm should hold up better. Does it get alot stress when you drive the bot around?peterwaller wrote:Andrew it is very thin and is already starting to get a bit bent from adjusting it so I am not sure it is going to be up to combat.
Alasdair I used to fly an aerobatic biplane called a Frantic and that certainly lived up to its name especially when I was driving it.

Hi everyone. Joey has somehow persuaded me to build a very basic antweight, and hopefully it will be ready in time for AWS 32.
Weight: 130g (front & top armour still needs to be added)
Length: 100mm
Width: 100mm
Height: 30mm
Drive: 2x 50:1 HP motors & 1x 7.4v 120mAh LiPo
Armour: 2mm unknown plastic (base & rear), 5mm Polycarbonate (sides), 1.5mm Polycarbonate (front & top)
Weapon: Magical ability to fall apart
Other: Sabertooth 2x5A for R/C speed controller & Corona RS610II receiver
Image: http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr12 ... C01101.jpg
It doesn?t have a name yet, but it is tentatively known as Through Glass for now.

Ball bot *better name to follow*
100g
3.5inch dia 3.5in tall 3.5 wide
works by shifting the weight of the unit inside the robot
no active weapons and not likely to be controllable
