Set mine up during the week but have a curious issue, I've only got one channel, I've got forwards and back on the left right stick and nothing else, checked my wiring against yours Peter and I've wired the same, gone through the programming but no joy so far.

Turning is for suckers anyway right?

so it turns out I have full control, but left and right is on the throttle forwards back is on the aileron stick, obviously I can change the wiring on one motor to correct it but, I havent driven 2 stick for years, is there any way to change that mix?

I must admit it took me quite a bit of playing before I finally fathomed out the programming. The first problem was it suggest putting an elastic band around the two stick before switching on the transmitter (to go into program mode) but with the small helicopter Tx you can't do that or it never goes into working mode just bleeps. You need to switch it on first and then put the band on. I also found that with the DX6i Tx the sticks had to be away from the centre with the channels set to normal.
With the sticks set as above power up the receiver and it should go into program mode in a couple of seconds light flashing rapidly. Return the sticks to centre and the lamp should start flashing a sequence. If the sequence is what you want push the right stick forward to accept (yes) if not pull the left stick back(no) to change to the next value. Once you have the right value do (yes) to go to the next level.
I think you need to set it as follows:

Put into program mode
1 flash...........for H output
1 flash...........output H1
2 flashes........for mixing
3 flashes........chan 3 elev
5 flashes........100% mix
continuous ......programmed

Put into program mode
1 flash.........for H output
2 flashes......output H2
2 flashes......mixing
2 flashes......for chan2 ail
1 flash.........not sure why
continuous ....programmed

Hi sorry to post to a relatively old thread but I have just ordered one of these boards and have a quick question about voltages. I notice the boards are rated to 6v max and I was originally intending to use a NiMH battery rated to that voltage but apparently the charged voltages of these batteries are much higher, and I don't want to overload the board. I can switch to a 4.8v battery but my concern was that the robot wouldn't be fast enough. Thanks in advance.

I have a robot running on one of these controllers, at a regulated 5v.And it is fast enough, IMHO.

You can buy extra boards for these controllers,and run the motors at up to 10v,but Murray runs fine on 5v.
If you feel it is under powered,you could always retro-fit the boards!

A 5 cell NiCd or NiMh pack can definitely exceed the 6v max so I would either use a regulator or a 4 cell pack.

Peter,is Alsoran still using 1 lipo cell???
How do you rate it? That would be a nice easy solution?

Alsoran is using one lipo cell driving the motors in two 5 gms servo's with all the electronics removed.
It is fairly slow at about 4v and probably not much pushing power but all it needs to do is move enough to stay away from Combatant.

Cheers for the advice I've ordered a 4 cell, so I guess the acid test will be the AWS. Should be done by next week as long as I can get the programming down!
