Help

Post by Geoncide »

I have never built a robot before and I am 11. I really need a guide how to build a robot. I already have a robot plan at the bottom. Is there a robot guide to beginners and can you get some good websites to get stuff from? By the way, I don't want to get the Pants starter kit for 2 reasons
1:Too expensive
2:I don't wan't to get it because it's sort of cheating. I want to start from scratch.

I'll suggest my own site, especially http://windisch.co.uk/robots/howto/build_a_robot.htm

Building ants is so easy, younger competitors often come up with designs that beat the adults!

I Fifth that:)
Simon's site has helped me quite alot. The guide on how to build an antweight in 6 steps allows anyone to understand it:) I also learned alot by talking to other antweight builders like Dave Weston and Pete Collier.

hell I will seventh it!
Early warnings Genocide, this hobby is not cheap.

In fact its probably the most silly overly expensive waste of time ever! And I play world of warcraft! The kind of people who enjoy this hobby are the ones as kids spent hours building massive sand castles, then destroying them.

Honestly, you will learn a lot of skills but having an expensive part destroyed after a fight can add up. I think you can get a pants parts kit. Like the pants kit just you get all the essentials to build your own. That would work well for you. I suggest building you first ant and play with it for a while and join in with none spinner fights. Once you feel confident, join in with full combat.

Either way, welcome to robotic combat.
