Check out this design of Joey's:

http://picus.org.uk/antweights/sdf.html?

Simple 2 wheeled pusher that works upside down too!

Doesn't need to be metal.

What do you think?

I know s.d.f really nice looking robot but it struggles to get under people and is too complex or a dummy like me but overall a lovely lil robot this was basically what my original idea was like but not made of metal http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/bat ... 1216200858

That looks fairly standard but most people have the wheels on the outside as this leaves more space between the motors and less cramping inside

I don't think S. D. F. could ever be accused of being too complex (or nice looking...), but it does struggle to get under people - it's very hard to balance the weight over the wheels correctly so the wedge stays down in both orientations, so I'd suggest going for a more single-ended pusher and trying not to get flipped!

In my experience it's very easy to get hung up on the aspects of the robot that don't really affect much, like naming and theming, and I'd try and concentrate on getting it working first. A name will attach itself to the robot inevitably!

Yeah naming Is pointless for me at the moment I'm gonna keep ant ator. On another note the kit come which I never expected thanks Rory I also have some acetate and cardboard still need a charger the armour batteries and the transmitter but I know what I roughly want except for charger. Any recommendations?

Glad the kit got to you ok :)

The charger I usually recommend is out of stock in hobbyking but you can get it here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Turnigy-Lipo- ... SwbwlW~sxb

It will need a power supply to go with it, which can be found here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-1mm-PLUG-UK ... xyNo9SxE9C

To use that charger, you simply plug the white connector on the battery into the smaller of the two white sockets on the side of the charger. The green light should come on after a few seconds, and when the light turns off it's charged. Usually takes a few minutes.

It's best to charge after every 5 minutes or so of running else the battery voltage will get too low; try not to run it until the robot starts running noticeably slowly else the battery might get damaged.
Also always remember to unplug the battery once you've finished else it will go completely flat and can't be recharged.
