I have been waiting for a shed load of bits from hobbyking since 7th april! :(
I have 5 part built robots lying around doing nothing at the moment. Its getting very frustrating! :(
Has it been dispatched yet? I made an order about the same time, finally got dispatched last Saturday and arrived yesterday. Fingers crossed I should have a few to post here by the end of the month.

My guess is that it's been held by HMRC pending extra tax!

I have just weighed all the bits for Raoul.
237g!! :(
And that is without 18g for the battery!
The weapon alone weighs 86g! :o

No more jaffa cakes for Raoul.

What on earth weighs 83g! Something to be worried about I'm assuming.

I fear it's some sort of spinny device, and if Boreworm is anything to go by it's to be feared :P

Will Raoul be paying a visit to Mr. Drill at all Jim?

Yes,I am afraid that Raoul will be visiting Mr Drill,Joey  :)
This afternoon, the 5mm ally side rails have been replaced with 4mm HDPE.
That has already saved 40g!! :)
I will lighten everything I can before lightening the weapon,as I think it should be quite powerful with that weight behind it.I am using 2 brushless outrunners to get it up to speed.Although the esc's for the motors have been stuck in the nether region of backorders at hobyking for over a month now.:(
I have never used HDPE before, but so far it is quite good. It is dificult to get a nice finish to it,though.600 grit wet sanding is I have found so far for a matt, but smooth effect.
Got Raoul moving today, using the cheap chinese gear motors from ebay.On 7,4v they are ok,but on the slow side using 20mm dia wheels.Raoul will be on 11v eventually,so will hopefully speed up a bit.
It is nice to be tinkering again. :D
On a side note,I have been trying to think up a team name.I thought of one,but it uses the same initials as the German "mad metal machines".
I was going to use the name "Mini Mechanical Monsters". And use an M3 or M cubed design in the team logo. Do you think this would be ok? or is it a bit cheeky?
Cheers Jim. :)
