Almost done. Everything is fabricated now, it's just a case of putting it all together. I'm going to investigate waterjetting companies next time I need to work with ti, as filing it in this weather is bloody hot work.

Hoping to have it done by tomorrow, so I get a whole day of driving practice. That will be one whole day more than I normally have!

Time for my first post in preparation for the AWS!

Here's the beginning of my new pneumatic flipper, Flux. Inspired by american SHW Ziggy, it's a 4-bar (well, 2 bars and a slider technically) flipper designed to throw robots as far as possible. Whether it'll work or not is a different matter ^^.

Nice. Good to see the lego ram being used well. I've always thought it was too tall to be used in a decent antweight, but it looks like I'm about to be proved wrong. One question though, I see no space for the usual deodorant can style tanks... are you using something else instead? The only thing I can think of is that one of the standard lego tanks would just about fit into one of those side gaps. Or are you making a custom tank? Or am I missing something obvious? Looks good though, can't wait to see it in action.

Big custom tank in each side, everything else (apart from the drive motors) in the centre, so should have plenty of gas. I think for a standard layout, the Lego ram is too long unless you cut it down, but it works well in this configuration. I just hope I've got my geometry right so it works as expected .
