Not quite as elegant as 11 but still dangerous looking.

yes, definitely not quite as elegant but certainly functional. I think this one was originally built in 2010- its the version that won AWS 34.

Hopefully my department will let me use the printer here to finish Inertia 11 while my printer is out of action. I may even treat it to a new brushless too :)

Will,

Do you have any use for the bar on *forgotten robots name*

Saw you had 2 cut and wonder if you could consider letting one or both of them go to a good home for a few quid. Looks perfect for my new overhead.

Cheers

My team for tomorrow. We have...

Ants- Inversion 2, Inertia 2, Red+ (cluster with a buug) and White

Fleas- Mini Red and Rush 4 (the mini blue is slightly overweight so wont actually be entering)

Nanos- Inertia XT (only for the cluster due to weight), Reducto and Lumos

Post AWS Update

Most of my machines escaped the AWS relatively unscathed and only some minor changes to make before the Antweight Open later in the month.

Inertia 2- all that stopped it in the end was a wire detaching from the switch, I'm going to make some minor changes to stop that happening again as well as fixing the issue with it getting stuck on its back. The disc still seems as deadly as ever though :)

Inversion 2- Had several good fights and only needed the acetate and a tyre replacing after Anticyclone had a go (twice) but still managed to beat it.

Red+ Still going strong too having had a couple of rounds with FlailWhale. just needs charging and its good for the next one.

White- Still working but could do with some improving to make it a little more effective.

MiniRed- Very impressed with this one as it was doing really well in the fleas- just need to get better at driving it.

Rush 4- for a 20 minute build it worked really well- just need to set up the drive correctly and its good to go

Reducto- Working perfectly after not losing a single fight in the Nanos to become the first nanoweight champion. just need to beef up the solder joint to the battery.

Lumos- seems to have killed a servo so will likely be replaced with something a bit better

and finally....

Inertia XT- had great fun running this as part of the Lemmings cluster and delivered the hit which beat Spall in the second fight. Very happy with the new disc- just need to find a way of getting it within the nanoweight limit.

Between work and getting some Shockbots orders ready I've finally spent some time getting my team ready for the Antweight Open this weekend.

I have been planning to rebuild White since the AWS as I felt that some improvement was needed- I had to remove most of the acetate to get it in the cube and it was a bit to easily flipped. The new one has larger, much grippier wheels and a proper flipper linkage which makes the most of the servo it has in there. The changes seem to work pretty well and it is far better than the orginal version.

Inversion 2 has also been upgraded slightly after seeing how effective White 2 is with the new wheels I decided that Inversion would benefit from them too- a new chassis was printed to accomodate them and the results are very impressive- it has a good boost of speed from the larger wheels and the grip is incredible! It can even self right completely unaided by quickly changing direction.

nice! white looks like it'll be able to pick robots up and carry them around quite well which is always advantageous and invertion looks pretty good too.

Very interested to know what you've started using for tires! I'm kinda concerned; not sure I'm gonna be able to drive over inversion now :P

Now that all of the event for this year are done I can now take a look at all my ants and work out what changes will be made for next year.

White 2- very very pleased with how this one works- I've ordered a new metal geared servo for it after the last servo stripped- the new one is faster and with more torque so should work well. The drive is excellent so will be staying largely the same.

Inversion 3- also happy with the way the new version works- will have some new wheels made and possibly a new chassis to allow the hinged scoop to work as planned.

Red- somehow still running but is now getting a little bit tired- will be keeping it around for a few friendlys but will be replaced in the AWS team.

Inertia 2- still in full working order after the Open- the disc caused plenty of damage and the changes from the AWS made a big difference.

Mini Red- still running perfectly after winning the fleas at the open.

Rush 4x4- still works well but may get a new chassis before next year.

Reducto- working perfectly still having won both the AWS and Ant Open Nanoweight competitions

Inertia XT- Has a couple of issues but will get a new drive servo and will try to lose some weight to get it within the limit.

I have plans for a couple of ants but the main one I want to finish is Inertia 11 which will be replacing Red in my team. I'm going to try and mix building styles to make it as effective as possible without exploding.
