I'm going to make it my mission to find a non 3d printed mold alternative to these tyres . Not that I think they're anything but brilliant, I just can't afford a 3d printer

I would advise rubber glove tyres from Poundland. I was doing some more testing of the latest batch of gloves today and found I had quite a bit of pushing power; the problem is, I just don't have the weight behind the robot. As long as you have a heavyish robot and can spare £1 for about 40 or so tyres, you too can have excellent grip; I think the rubber gloves could give these silicone things a good run for their money!
Re: Team Shock's Build Diary
I've been quietly working since the AWS to get my ants going again. They will mostly be staying the same with some slight changes and I do have a couple more planned in the future.
The main one has been to rebuild White after the flipper got ripped off in its first fight at the last AWS. This required a slight rethink to the design which has led me to this.
White 2 (old version) is on the left with the redesigned White 3 on the right- it will have all the parts transplanted from the old one but with a modified chassis and flipper arm which should hopefully prevent the arm being removed by a vertical spinner.
I also have plans for another spinner which will finally allow me to use the 80mm diameter disc from Inertia 7

Hey, that was a one off, and it was at least some sort of pun on being a mini spinner (spelt Spinni)... You can't possibly compare that to White, Red, Blue, Mini Blue, etc.

Re: Team Shock's Build Diary
Now I've got the printer back to full working order I've managed to start on the upgraded ants- I'm currently printing the new Quake (the new version of White) but I managed to get Inertia 12 printed first- its basically Inertia 11 with a few mods (as the design worked very well). I'm keeping 11 working as well so they may well be entering the next AWS together.
I need to trim down the brushless slightly to fit but apart from that its going to be pretty easy to assemble
