Haywire build diary

Post by Shakey »

For a long time all I have had to put up with in terms of antweights was this:
Image
Not much, just a oversize plasticard thing...

However today I decided to do some serious work and now I have upgraded to this:
Image
A decent chassis made of 1mm aluminium. And with components (receiver and lipo aren't secured down yet and there are a lot of wire to be shortened).

I have some 1.5mm for the front, 0.5 for the top and 1mm for the sides of the robot and 1.5mm for the flipper arm.

Tomorrow I plan to:
- Get a lead for the voltage regulator to the receiver
- Make a flipper arm
- Secure the wheels (they are a bit loose at the moment)
- Secure the lipo and the receiver
- More work on the armour (front and top)

This will be my build diary for this robot.

Looking really clean and well made!

the chassis looks EXTREMELY similar to disobidiANT's old one. :D

one point, the main problem with alu is when it is bent by spinners, it is hell to bend back. i reccomend a titanium front as well ( if you can actuall y find some)

I have tried searching for titanium but I haven't found any shops and all the internet ones sell it in large sheets and need ridiculous delivery charges.

Eventually I plan to upgrade but for now I'll try and keep the 1.5 facing the spinner. Hopefully there won't be too much damage (who am I kidding, those spinners are viscious).

Also in the end It won't look like disobidiANT.
