Re: Advice on using a pistol grip transmitter

I use a pistol style transmitter in one of my antweights. The one I use does not mix the channels together so one control would drive one wheel and one would drive the other. I did have an external mixer at one stage which worked until it caught fire (don't ask how :P) so I have to be quite careful ...

Re: Wheely big Help...

Assuming these are the N20 motors, I'd just unscrew it via the two crosshead screws that you can see when looking at the output shaft. Having just done it to a old motor I have, the whole brass section (plus the gears) just comes away as one part so you should just be able to clamp that down and use...

Re: Antescher Assault Systems build diary

Looking good there, neater than my Ants at any rate :P it always seems to go wrong. think i need to get some kind of pillar drill. I picked up a pillar drill that uses a standard corded drill and simply guides it down for about £20. I need to get a clamp to hold the pieces down whilst operating the ...

Re: A Bunch of new Guys & Girls

Solid enough for my Antweight to use a pair as a drive system and as a weapon ESC on my Beetleweight. I've had one catch fire on me but I think that was because I was pressing down on it with a tin lid and then turned it on.

Re: Much competition?

...next one is at Grantham on the 23rd/24th June Good good, I'll reassemble Shu! for then. The Grantham pits area is really spacious but I can see why RL might want to limit this since it isn't generally for public viewing (except for the VIP folks). There is a beetleweight championships in October...

Re: BotFest pilot (29th July 2018)

We finally managed to secure a venue and a time. The event will be held on the 29th of July between 2pm - 8pm at the following location: St. Lukes Church Poulton Wallasey CH44 3BD With all the hold ups with getting this venue, I've extended the signup cutoff date to the 30th of June at 23:59 . Hope ...

Re: Team Kaizen - Ikari

Mounted a blade and have been trailing it. The blade is slightly unbalanced so anything about 50% and the robot is liable to go anywhere it fancies. I'll see about remaking the blade in steel before AWS but I still have this one if needed. I also swapped the battery over for a 370mah 2S LiPo since I...

Re: Team Kaizen - Ikari

The new motor and ESC arrived. Spent a bit of time working out how to bolt it to the robot but the end result is rather pleasing, if a little skewed. 103.2g at the moment, plenty of allowance for a blade and a HDPE shell. The noise off the motor reminds me of a buzzy, angry bird... https://youtu.be/...

Re: Just getting started..

For £60 you can get an orangeRX from hobby king. Which does both dsm2 and dsmx. I think they are the types. The OrangeRX system only does DSM2 and DSMX if you get the international version which is a bit more expensive I think in terms of postage. You can get a UK version which only does DSMX (appa...

BotFest pilot (29th July 2018)

Hi everyone! After running a social on Merseyside a few months ago, myself and a friend have decided to start running a series of events, starting with the Ants and then hopefully including the Beetles later on (time/space/money permitting). To work out the format of how we would like to run this (a...
