Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Just to update given the news from the government last night - the intention is still to run BotFest 4 on the 24th of July as planned. Obviously I wouldn't like to place a limit on numbers if it can be avoided and that is still the intention however if after the government review in two or three wee...

Re: Hobbyking

Depends on the item and wherever they have UK stock of that item. Its something I've been caught out by before where the item is coming from the EU or from elsewhere.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Good to see enuthisiasm for the event is still around! :D [...] considering there hasn't been any talks of event entry total cap I'll leave my entries until closer to the time Makes sense. Once the government has cleared us for the 21st of June, there shouldn't be any more limits on numbers. 1. Perh...

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

With the 21st of June coming, I would have liked to have said "yes, its going ahead on the 26th" with some relative certainty but with the situation in the UK as is at the moment, I am waiting to see what the government says first before committing to this. Assuming that the 21st goes ahea...

Re: Questions about LEDs and the OrangeRX R610V2

If I was to install a LED, I would put it after the switch before the ESC in pararell. For example, from when I built my first AW: http://teamkaizen.ocracoke.org.uk/images/sample_wiring_loom_aw.jpg As for the voltage, I think the one in that photo had a resistor built into it so it'd handle 6V (I am...

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Outdoors you can have up to 30 in Wales but 6 indoors I think. I did consider taking the event into Wales and rent somewhere outdoors but I don't know anywhere and rather not risk the weather.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

So the recent law change has pretty much made running BotFest 4 impossible to do in its current form. The exemption around team sports only applies if the governing body has submitted a plan to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (the DCMS) and it is subsequently listed on the pag...
