Re: T_Y's Build Log

PLA+! IT'S PLA+!

Joking aside, I'm going to wait and see how much weight I have left over once the electronics go in. I'll either go for 0.5mm Ti or 1mm Alu on the front I think.

Re: T_Y's Build Log

I forgot to update this after Robodojo! I've uploaded the fights here https://youtu.be/xDOLusqwuQs except for the first fight, it seems I missed it during the export. There were only 6 of us competing, but that meant we could each get a lot of fights in - everyone had 3 robots, so we did a round rob...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

I came up with a new axe mechanism for Percussive Maintenance the other day, and have been busy building a prototype. It's loosely based on traditional flipper linkages to get a larger range of motion from the axe given the limited servo arm motion. https://youtu.be/YQyxexTrDvI It seems to work fine...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

Small update, the STL files for the mechanum wheels are now available on Thingiverse! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4130500

I also might have committed to attempting to make 2 servo PM2 a thing now...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

Ant Freeze 7 was technically my most successful event, in that one bot won the most fights in a competition on record for me... at 2 wins 2 losses XD PM2 went 0/2. The first fight against Unorthodox was fun. That thing has a 70g servo giving its flips so much oomph. Eventually, the gearing slipped, ...

Re: Team Shakey Build Diary

Normally when entertaining the prospect of fighting big spinners, I feel both nervous and excited.

Drill bot just terrifies me.

Re: T_Y's Build Log

latex gloves... cut some up into strips and glue onto each roller? That's a good idea - I might look into this after AntFreeze. Fire me the STL for the roller part in a PM, and I will 3d print you some rubber rollers on the DLP machine. This needs to be at maximum effectiveness That would be awesom...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

I think given the curved shape of the rollers, casting silicone tyres onto them might be a bit tricky, I'd have to think about it and see what could be done. I was thinking of some sort of tape or paint-able latex which may do the trick. Any attempt to add tyres to the rollers is going to need a mod...
