Probably, personally I would stick to electrolytics as I've always used that type with the 78 series voltage regs - cheap from a Maplin etc

Hard to get the thickness exact but I have a bench grinder
Its handy for some free form grinding and these things are 20-30 quid or so
Great for sharpening things etc as well

I had problems with Sabertooth running 2 motors and a servo through the BEC
I built a 6V regulator for the servo direct off the battery. That solved the issues
