Re: Epic Robotics
Thanks for the kind words! I'm currently using the XC-6A from Micron . It works quite well, and while they do reverse quickly, I feel it could be faster. However, as far as I can tell the hardware of this board is identical to an ESC which is commonly sold under the name "XP-7A", which has...

Re: Epic Robotics
Hi all! I'm building again currently, preparing for the next AWS. It was only a short break this time but it's definitely reinvigorated me. I've always said that even if my robots don't win, I would like them to at least be interesting and/or different. The new version of Void is hopefully going to ...

Re: First Time Bulid, Diary, And Noob Questions!
Quick note; the TinyESC is only a single-channel ESC - it can only control one motor. You'll need two to make a drive setup.

Re: First time build! Devils Advocate! Noob questions aswell
I'll just copy and paste my reply from the FRA forums here, as it's still all relevant; ------- I'm not sure where to start with this... "ESC - Turnigy 20a" As far as I'm aware Turnigy don't make a reversible ESC for brushed motors. If you bought one for use with brushless motors, it won't...

Your moulded tyres are definitely better than the tape I use, I'm just lazy
Re: AWS 49
I know no one lives really close anymore... The venue is at the school where I work, which I live a five minute drive from :P. I'm happy to sort it out so that someone can host there, but someone else would need to cover the £150 cost and the actual event organisation itself, as I don't have time t...

Re: A boreing question
Thanks for the suggestions; I don't have enough spares of the gears to make a rig like Alex suggested, otherwise that would be a great idea. I do like the collet idea however; I'm going to print some collets that are the perfect size and something to clamp them in. Thanks for the help.

Re: Ant Freeze 3 & Signups - Nuneaton, 23rd Jan 2016
Thanks everyone for a great event! Especially to the Dennys for hosting, to Pete for giving me lifts and giving me a spare battery for Void, and to Alex for letting me use his drill & bits. Also thanks to Rory for splitting Void in two to force me to stop being lazy and design the new one. I thi...

A boreing question
Hi all, I need to bore out the centre of some tiny, tiny gears (around 3-3.5mm diameter) from 1 to 1.5mm, but I can't find any way to hold them securely enough that they don't rotate, but not damage the teeth in the process. Turning down the shaft is another option, but I don't have a lathe, so I'd ...

Re: Ant Freeze 3 & Signups - Nuneaton, 23rd Jan 2016
Last minute emergency; Void's batteries have discharged too much while it's been sitting around and, while it still works, my charger refuses to charge them. Does anyone have a charger which they can force to trickle them back up to an acceptable voltage that I can try tomorrow please?
