Thanks Alex, that's great. I'll take this list to them later in the week and see what they think :).

Re: Cheap components for an antweight class

Thanks for all the help everyone. I'm putting together a price list for this at the moment to be shown to the Fablab this week. I'm currently coming in at about ~£40 per robot including transmitter, excluding the bits we'll be making (wheels. chassis, etc). The only component I haven't decided on ye...

Re: AWS 50- 23rd July- Basingstoke

Huge congratulations to Rory; I'm really pleased you managed to snag the top spot, and you did it pretty convincingly, with a spinner, while breaking Stanley in the process. What m...

Unfortunately, I won't be bringing this to the AWS; it's quite heavy at the moment, and while I could probably get the side pods completed in time, I'd have to dismantle quite a bit to get to the areas where I need to save weight, and I don't have eno...

Cheap components for an antweight class

Hi All, We've just had a new "FabLab" open up in Coventry, and I've been in talks with the owners to run an antweight building class one day over the summer. The intent would be that people pay a fee, build a robot during the day, have a small competition with them at the end of the day, a...

Re: AWS 50- 23rd July- Basingstoke

Do you want access to stream it on twitch.tv/antweightworldseries Will? Seems to make sense to try to consolidate our streams onto one channel :).

Engineering as a career

Hi guys, Long story short, I'm pretty fed up of IT, and desperately want a career change. Engineering has always been a passion of mine (as evidenced from the fact that I do this hobby!), and I would have probably ended up going into it after school if the educational system hadn't entirely failed m...
