Re: Boost Circuits
sorry yes about 200-250 ma burst for 0.5s. I do have one of those actually but it's a tight fit. I'm struggling to find anything much smaller really.

Boost Circuits
I've used several boost units in the past but they are all too large to fit inside the new chassis. I need to boost a 2 cell lipo to 12v to activate a couple of solenoid valves. They will only be activated for 0.5s bursts. Weight and size are some what limited with it being a struggle to fit even Fi...

Re: Pop!
I finally got a chance to put the prototype together. All fits and works nicely, few pieces that need better supporting and I've found the areas I can reduce weight in. Straight away the cylinder/arm mechanism works much better and has a very smooth action so should work in theory! Oh and I angled t...

Re: Pop!
The pneumatics are something quite tricky to get right. Simple ram solenoid tank is no problem but to make something as powerful as I'm trying is a pain... All the versions that have ended up built have worked to an extent but none have yet been reliable. It's taken this long just to iron out flaws ...

Re: Pop!
I've been working on ironing out all the problems with the last few pneumatic systems, I'm on probably the 30th model before it's starting to look feasible in terms of weight. It does away with all the tight tolerance threaded joints which where causing an issue in the last version. It also has a pi...

Re: Tips for sketchup/3d printing
I think the 3d printed stainless will be quite soft for various reasons. Most people have a disk CNC machined from billet. Usually titanium or some form of tool steel. Design can be more key than the material though, if you are making a disk that effectively punches rather than cuts then you can use...
