There are wheels you can buy to attach directly to drill motors. You'd be wanting the ones with nut inserts.

I would just use screws/bolts to hold it together

Re: Rule 2b: Robot size limits
I wouldn't say its bad design to try to use, and it wouldn't force you to build something that exceeds the cubes size, if thats the size you want to go for then thats fine. Also, I wouldn't say that larger robots are a product of bad design. A change in the size and not weight would presumably give ...

Re: L.W.S Robotics build diarys
I use plastic for the chassis which can be cut with hand tools. My FW robots are pretty much all plastic. As for the wiring, when I wired up my first bot I used the guide from the Battle Ratz to do it, its fairly straight forward really it can just look a bit daunting when you have a load of bits ly...

Re: Metrication of the rules
To add to Dave's point there, I wasn't just giving my own opinion either there, I was more conveying with what i've heard from people regarding the 4" size limit. Saying that though, i've noticed that its not the worst thing going on at the minute. Some of you guys seems to be getting a bit hea...

Rule 2b: Robot size limits
Not being an antweight builder it probably doesn't matter so much what I think. I was tempted to build an ant for the event that I attended (AWS 35 or something maybe?) but this idea of the 4" cube is what put me off. Seems to me to just really limit the levels of creativity you're able to have...

Re: L.W.S Robotics build diarys
If your trying to do it slightly cheaper than having 4 speed controllers you could almost definitely get away with just 2 electronize 30a's for 4 motors and save yourself 100 quid. I assume you'll be running drill motors as most people do, especially on their first project? Also, you might have more...

Re: :Wanted:
Sorry for the delay, I don't really check this as often as the other forum. I'll have to find them too then i'll send you details of them and make sure I still have em, the conversion of the transmitter has gone a bit funny and I haven't had time to work out why so they will be living with that some...

Re: :Wanted:
Just remembered a conversation we had a few months ago Harry. We have taken the 40MHz gear out of Eric so the receiver/crystals/opto are sitting in a box in the garage. I think you mentioned something to me about them a few months ago but have lost the message.
