Re: After the esc, the other stuff - simplistic questions
imo, servo's are the best to begin with over motors to power lifter/flippers... motors are good for axe's though but would require another esc to be wired in to make it work where as servo's have their own built in esc's so i would say to stick with servo's all the way as there are more options ava...

Re: After the esc, the other stuff - simplistic questions
motor mounts for me are cable ties (zip ties across the pond) i use 2s 180mah lipo's in every build... a lipo bag large enough to fit my whole bot in to charge it to save me needing to remove it from the bot each time i charge it. i use nylon m3 standoffs and m3 machine screws with half nuts for mo...

Re: After the esc, the other stuff - simplistic questions
that particular servo would be overkill for the grab on Mantis. but it is ideal for a flipper with a decent bit of ooomph... its a faster servo than the mg92b i mentioned, but costs 4x more. the servo you choose depends on what you plan on using it for... and your driving style so the KST is ideal ...

Re: ESC questions & why not USA shipping
my ideal esc would be about 2a per channel, with a built in receiver that could support another 2 channels. no mixing built in. all wires exiting from the same side (makes locating it easier) in the smallest, lightest package possible while remaining reliable. i dont need built in breaking as i hav...

Re: ESC questions & why not USA shipping
speaking of mixing via tx, even esc's with built in mixing i generally switch off and do my own as i have far more "tuning" options with my own mixes. Mantis uses the much smaller and lighter 1.8a dual esc due to size and weight limits of the design (although this latest version comes in ...

Re: ESC questions & why not USA shipping
^ what he said "Esper runs 2x bustophedon 10a esc's and finished 3rd at aws60 (the biggest antweight event in the uk)" From another thread, the quote above! why do you use 2x 10a esc's in this bot? Please forgive me that I can't place the bot to the name. Also why do you generally use the...

Re: ESC questions & why not USA shipping
N20s typically have a stall current of <1A. Unless you get Polulu High Power ones, but they're kinda pointless for drive in an ant. In terms of choosing your N20, I like 500 or 600 rpm ones for drive. I get mine from AliExpress, though I'm aware some people have issues with quality control from som...
