Re: Team Pushover's Ants Build Log.

weirdly, i did the same thing to a dasmikro, and it survived!

and then it survived normal polarity, which is just as risky. :P

Re: Dual motor Axe bot

GeorgeR's axebot is dual motor - there are pics in his build diary, so you can see how he did it. Using two motors means that they'll fight each other a little bit, so they have to be well secured. You also have to consider the torque reaction of the axe, as it's possible to make an axebot that flip...

Re: Team BLEEP build diary

ooh - actual damage? :D that was probably the other axebot, then. :P i did enjoy ramming stolen concept right in the gubbins with sprouting potato. even though it didn't achieve much, i think it was my favourite moment, as i just really wanted to ram a spinner to see what happens. :) the side armour...

Re: "What it says on the tin" N20s / Far from tacky tacho

The only ones I bought from ebay were rubbish, so I never did that again. The rest came from either hobbyking or pimoroni, and were all as advertised. As they all look about the same, I labelled my motors using little bits of sticky label (the stuff for sticking printed addresses to envelopes) with ...

Re: Botfest 2 (23rd March 2019)

I bet that means all the fights where I don't just drive into the pit are missing. :P Did you get the rumble on video?

I too really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to the next one. It so nice to have a relaxed competition where everyone's just there to have fun. :)

Re: Team BLEEP build diary

I was already using just the one hinge. The nylon ones were too flimsy, so I just added it as a fixed wedge in the end. Weight: 144g. Botfest was the other day, and it's a good event for testing or dialing in robots, as you get a lot of fights. I needed the testing, as I hadn't test driven either ro...

Re: A Hotel, constructed of Limas, for Ants: A Build Diary

i use flickr, so I'm afraid I'm not much help. apparently you can generate bbcode from imgur if you're on their desktop site; https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003264766-FAQ-for-Forum-Users- edit: just tried it on one of your images. viewed, went to desktop mode, a tab appeared called 'emb...

Re: Team BLEEP build diary

4 days to go before Botfest. Quite looking forward to it, as it's a lot nearer than any of the AWSes get, so I don't get a stressful 4 hour drive either side, and it's also more relaxed generally. :) I've been very slowly upgrading the bots in readiness, and both are a tweak or two away from complet...

Re: Botbitz 10 amp ESCs for weapon

Out of curiosity is overvolting a servo just a really bad idea? I kinda figured that as we don't tend to massively stress our servos it'd be relatively fine? As far as I know (ie: I'm probably wrong), overvolting a servo doesn't work very well. The motor alone could probably take it, but the circui...

Re: Team BLEEP build diary

the 2s balance connectors have gotta be better than the Pico connectors. I'll stick with them to see what happens, with a lipo bag close to hand. :P
